In a surprising turn of events, InVision App, a pioneering force in design collaboration services, has recently announced its decision to shut down its design collaboration services, including prototypes and DSM, by the end of 2024. This major development is set to impact the creative processes and workflows of countless designers who have relied on InVision’s services for the past 12 years.

The announcement by Michael Shenkman, the CEO of InVision App, reveals that Freehand, a visual collaboration product under InVision’s umbrella, has been acquired by Miro. Miro has exciting plans for Freehand and will be communicating directly with Freehand customers in the near future.

In the coming months leading up to the shutdown, the existing services will remain unchanged. For Enterprise customers, InVision’s Sales team will work closely with them to address any questions and guide them toward alternative solutions if necessary. Meanwhile, self-serve (non-Enterprise) customers will have the option to continue using InVision until the end of 2024. However, annual subscription offerings have been discontinued, and users will transition to monthly subscription options.

The announcement acknowledges that the news might evoke a range of emotions within the InVision community. Recognizing this, InVision is committed to making the transition as smooth as possible for its users. Michael Shenkman expresses gratitude for the trust and support the community has shown over the past 12 years, emphasizing that the primary focus is on ensuring a seamless transition.
